Touch it. Test it. Understand it. Science is not a subject — it is a superpower!
Hands-On Science is the most open-ended and adaptable session in the Active Growth Hub lineup. Each session focuses on a specific scientific theme — magnetism, light and shadow, sound, states of matter, or simple machines — and delivers the concept through pure hands-on experimentation.
Children are not given answers. They are given questions, materials, and enough guidance to figure things out themselves — building the confidence to think scientifically in everyday life.
Did you know? Research consistently shows that children retain up to 75% of what they physically do and experience, compared to less than 10% of what they only hear or read.
What your child will do:
- Explore a specific science theme through 4–6 hands-on experiments
- Make predictions before each experiment and compare them with results
- Record observations using simple lab-style note-taking
- Discuss and explain results in a group setting
- Connect the science to everyday life examples
What your child will learn:
- Core scientific thinking: observe, predict, test, conclude
- A specific scientific concept (topic rotates each session)
- Physical intuition about how the world works
- Confidence in asking questions and forming hypotheses
- Foundation for future science learning
